Qtel launches today a new mobile service, “Mozaic SMS Chat”. Mozaic SMS Chat is very similar to other chat applications on the internet where customers can register, create a nickname and start chatting with other users or join public chat rooms to discuss topics such as football and movies. It connects people with common interests in a convenient and fun way all via their mobile phone. The service is mainly targeted at mobile communities but customers can also connect to their Yahoo, MSN and ICQ contacts while being away from their computer using this unique SMS interface. It’s strictly anonymous, safe and addictive and right now over 100000 registered users are actively chatting via SMS chat here and in Oman. Qtel will be connecting other GCC communities soon. As a special promotion Mozaic SMS Chat is FREE for all users until February 14th. From the 15th of February all messages sent will be charged at only 30 Dirhams per message. Sh. Fahad Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Qtel’s COO quoted “Mobile chatting is a worldwide phenomenon and its popularity is due to its ease of use in connecting individuals and groups to communities of common interests in a convenient, fun and entertaining way. Qtel is looking forward to delivering even more excitement and entertainment through Mozaic Mobile in the near future.” To start chatting Qtel customers can simply SMS the word “GO” to 2800 and follow the instructions to register their profile. After registration users can start searching for new friends based on their profiles or join one of the public chat rooms such as Football, Café and Banat.
