MyAdhan.com currently provides mobile phone Islamic downloads and our goal is to get Muslims to use their mobile phones to enhance their faith. We are currently trying to understand more about mobile phone habits and whether mobile phones can be used to help develop a person’s “faith”. Dubai: Dubai will be the first city in the region to introduce a road toll system. Motorists who face the heat of clogged traffic in this fast developing emirate will start paying a road toll to use part of Shaikh Zayed and Shaikh Rashid roads - the city’s busiest highways with major commercial development on both sides.

KUWAIT: The board member of Zakat (alms) house Mohammad Al-Mekhazeem announced that Zakat house is going to receive the sixth installment of the donation of HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali next Saturday in which the received amount will be KD 60 million out of KD 100 million. The joint committee between the Ministry of Social Affairs and nonprofit societies discussed alternative solutions for collecting donations by SMS messages during Ramadhan in addition to installing stands inside cooperative societies for collecting donations.

Winners at Turkish Olympics are champions of peace
More than 500 students from 100 countries enjoyed a spectacular and lively ceremony on Saturday to mark the finals of the Fifth International Turkish Olympics, an event where international students compete in categories ranging from singing and reciting poems to writing articles in Turkish.
Messages of peace were conveyed by the youth of the world all around the hall where the finals were held, while the Choir of Peace sang songs of love, peace and brotherhood. Emotions ran high at certain times among the hundreds gathered in the hall as five finalists, determined by SMS votes from the viewers, competing in the categories of poetry and singing took the stage. The audience, some in tears, gave emotional applause to these champions of the Turkish language.

Al Hamadi said, “We are so keen on making available all possible means of comfort for donors from institutions and individuals. After all, they are our partners in alleviating the distress of others and helping the needy. We are fully aware of the hardship some might face when they have to come to the headquarters to contribute to one of our field activities. So we wanted to spare them that.”
For his part, IT director at QC, Nasser Al Daoudi, said the Messaging Platform would provide the Charity with the necessary infrastructure to communicate with its employees and offices all around the world via SMS, without any hurdles related to place or time, especially in the remote areas of the world.
Yemeni Ministry of Information to create a new law for SMS news services

The Yemeni government also agreed to create a new law establishing minimum wages for journalists working in public institutions, in order to provide them with more financial security. Mujawar also directed the Ministry of Information to create a new law clearly stating the requirements for offering an SMS news service to cell phone subscribers.

It’s almost two years since we relaunched MyAdhan on IslamChannel, Alhumdulilla. Since our relaunch we’ve increased the number of services we provide and have some really positive plans for MyAdhan in the coming months. At the moment we only cater for the UK muslim public but we plan to expand service out to other countries, Inshallah. More news on this to follow

Etisalat announced an initiative to develop an exclusive service to permit customers to calculate and pay their Zakat contributions via a mobile phone. This is a unique proposition and will be the first time a software package has been developed to support the practice of Zakat.
