KUALA LUMPUR: If you receive an SMS saying you have just won RM15,000 in cash and RM250 in reload credit, beware - it is a scam.
The text message reads “Tahniah, simcard anda memenangi hadiah cek tunai RM15,000 plus reload kredit RM250 dari peraduan DiGi. Sila hubungi 006281343842239, terima kasih” (Congratulations, your simcard has won RM15,000 in cash plus reload credit of RM250 from a DiGi contest, please contact 006281343842239, thank you).
According to DiGi head of corporate communications Saffura Chinniah, it is one of the common SMS hoaxes that get circulated around and people should not fall prey to these scams.
